Safety glasses with close magnification

Looking for some shooting glasses with 2.50 magnification, like readers. Should the magnification panel be on top or bottom? I don't need adjustment downrange, just close, arm's length or less. Good ones? Great ones? Yellow? Interchangeable? Thanks-

Go on Amazon or ebay and buy cheap ($2 or so) glasses. Even 1.0 power has magnification. Several magnifications, 1, 1.5, 1.75, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0. You'll find the right one is probably in between two of those sizes. And step two buy some in between those two and test. Next, buy expensive shooting glasses.

Lowes and Home Depot also have them. Better than buying online because you can see if they will work for you before buying.

Well, just got back from the range. The glasses were a tough sell. Gotta do more research. Would higher magnification make the focus farther away? I am 2.5, should I try 3.5 or 1.5?

Rumblemonkey - go to your local Dollar store or wherever they sell cheater glasses. Try different pairs with different strengths and hold your arms out like you are holding a pistol. Look to see if the end of your index finger - read front sight - is in focus. Pick the best one.

Where this becomes more difficult is if you need a regular prescription to see distance in your other eye when not shooting.

Personally, I did the cheater routine to figure out magnification, then ordered Top-focal SSP shooting glasses. For me, I found the corrected area to be a little high, so I added the Hydrotac half lenses directly under the Top-focal area. This has worked for me for several years.

Currently, I have a mono focus glasses prescription from my eye doc which will be set to pistol sight length magnification in my dominate eye and distance in my other eye. Anxious to see if this works.

I cant see my front sight without readers. But i cant see the targets well at all with them.

have you considered a red dot? I have no trouble focusing on the target and floating a nice fine dot where i want the bullets to go.

The extra size for CCW seems a problem, even though many do it. I have been looking at them...LOL! Not a fan of lasers, have a couple in a drawer somewhere. Can't use them for qualifying anyway, but that should not be a problem. Getting old (er) sucks! Thanks!
