LGS and Transfer of AR Pistol

FYI, just talked to a few big store and they all turned me down. Turners was adamant that I had to have registered it as an assault weapon and could never transfer it and was probably breaking the law.
Sportsmans said corporate won't let them and they also don't PPT off roster handguns from CA-CA residents even. But small LGS came through and willing to do it on Sat, a day other than their one advertised random Thursday for PPT. Who even has time during the week for this....

FFL here, we have a location in Upland and Riverside, not sure where you are located. But we would definitely be willing to make this PPT happen for you as long as the AR pistol is maglocked. We are open Monday-Friday 10AM-6PM, and Saturdays 10AM-4PM

If you are up North, try contacting UG Imports or River City Gun Exchange as I believe they would also be willing to help you with this PPT.

Thank you. Turners really had me there with the FUD and I'll have to admit I started to panic a bit because I haven't kept up with the law in a while. Yes, the lower is maglocked and doesn't have a brace on it. The buyer is in Yuba so we're going to Shooter's Paradise.

That's typical. Different FFLs all seem to have different answers for the same thing, and no two can agree on what is allowed. I had a local non-chain FFL also tell me "all AR pistols are assault weapons, period. Don't even bring it in to the store" and wouldn't PPT it. I'm not sure how they come up with this stuff, since there's even AR pistols on the roster. Plus they sell maglock kits and maglocked rifles, but somehow that's not good enough for a pistol. Whatever. I went somewhere else.
A second funny, is that the FFL that did the AR pistol, later would not PPT a stripped Glock lower, insisted it had to be complete. The FFL that wouldn't do the AR pistol, was totally fine doing the Glock. What a mess.

I wonder if it's because they have to take a ton of time doing the paperwork for $10. Probably took 30 minutes straight. I made sure to buy their ammo and use their range for the 5 minute test fire.
Shooter's Paradise "Junior" really came through for us. Now I have a new motorcycle with the funds which could arguably be more dangerous than that gun. ha ha
