    The Platypus Has Arrived

    Hey Nerds,
Just got her in cleaned her up and mounted the optic. Wanted to take some pics before she goes to the range tomorrow and gets broken in. I ordered this in April and it showed up last week. Cosmetically it has 100% met my expectations. Build quality is Excellent. Slide to frame is smooth as butter. Range will tell the true story though. I went with the 5" tri-cut slide with full dust cover. Trigger is the 3.5 Pound option. They are now shipping with one piece guide-rods which was a pleasant surprise. I had it cut for an RMR and the Holosun fit perfectly. SA included the proper mount screws to make life easy. Main color is an off-white with blue/silver/black accents.

So the color scheme was a tough choice. If you've visited the Stealth Arms website you know that the customization options are endless. As this will be a range toy and infrequent competition gun I wanted something fun. As I am a true fan my final top 3 choices were all from the same universe but I could only pick one. I have included some very subtle hints in the last pic for the retards among us, which is probably most of you. Enjoy....

    Well that's nice!

Is this a 2011 or more like a 2011 variant of some sort? 2011's generally have a two piece frame and this appears to be a single/solid frame. And is it all steel or is the frame aluminum or ??

It is a 2011 variant made by Stealth Arms. It has a Single piece Aluminum frame that takes Glock 17 magazines. That and its limitless customizability are what sets it apart from everyone else. I’m also happy to report that today’s range session was flawless.

First Range session was 100 rounds. The pistol was flawless. Sighting it in with the holosun was really easy and It’s accurate out to at least 50 yards in my hands. Only grapes so far are the ambidextrous safeties sit a little low when the safety is disengaged. I would prefer a more upright angle to the safety lever. Fit and finish is excellent and she just runs

Mine took about 7 months to get.
They are cut for optics, just still want to be proficient with iron sites.
I am a big 1911/2011 guy and these by far are my favorite 2011's.
I love the integration of the block 17 mags.
Out of the box these things kicked ***!
The reliable cheaply priced mags are a bonus.
I wish they start making a 3 or 3.25" barrel for EDC
I bough the 4.25" for EDC carry, but it just isn't compact enough.
For open carrying, competition and training, this is my go to gun. Love em.

Mine has been flawless, absolutely worth the wait. If they start making steel-frame versions I will order another one for competition. Having handled various Staccatos (I like the XC but not for the asking price), MPAs and Atlas' I dont really see the need to spend an extra 3-4k to get one. I do however see the 'Want' as they are spectacular pistols.

Yah, not cheap. I do believe that you absolutely get what you pay for with firearms. Well, up to that 'point' of diminishing returns. I think this gun is absolutely worth its price.
