So does HK not hate us anymore?

Mr. Gunsandgear posted this on his X account. The CEO of the American divisions of HK sent this message out to the HK Pro community asking for input on what they would like to see HK produce. Usually with HK they build what government agencies want, then occasionally release these products to the public.

Of course the most posted response was a semi-auto MP7. There were other good ones posted too, like a semi auto G36 and UMP instead of the neutered SL8 and USC, or a semi auto HK 433.

A lot of people also said bring back the roller locked rifles like the G3, but I don’t think that would be cost effective with PTR pretty much having that niche market cornered now.

All my years of shooting/gun owning and I’ve never owned a H&K, except for an H&K MP22 but that’s not really an H&K. Now that they don’t hate us anymore maybe I’ll have to buy one, but I doubt it.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.

Well they hate you but they love your money and they realize that you have a lot more money to spend and they can make guns a lot less expensive by not importing them all. Don't worry they won't lower the price though LOL they'll just make more money

Don't care. And never cared if they hated the private consumer or not. If they make a good product, I'll return the interest.

I have not been interested in any of their handgun offerings since the USP, and that was only marginal, because I thought the P9/P9S series was a better gun, if not the best handgun HK ever made. P7's are nifty, and I have a few, but more for the unique factor.

As for rifles, I bought a USC on a close-out sale at Turners for next to nothing ($795) some time ago right before HK announced they were discontinuing it (and then didn't actually do that) but that discount was really the motivator. Nothing they have made in the way of rifles has appealed to me since the HK91.

They lost their groove, they're mojo. Maybe they're trying to get it back.

            .

My “HKs” are all clones…since they work just fine and look just fine I doubt I’d replace them.
Now if they brought back the P7 I’d bite but that will never happen.

Remember that deal that S&W signed with the anti-gunners that basically destroyed the company until a bunch of pro-gun people bought the company?

Well guess what, HK signed that same deal, just wasn't made public till much later.

                HK Germany still hates us.

And yes, I'm a HK fanboy.

I had an old school USP from when they first came out. Impressive bank vault-like lockup like you would expect. But terrible plastic-on-plastic trigger. You could hear it squeak like you can on other plastic stuff. Had to get rid of it.

They no longer hate us, as we are the only reason now they are still a viable company. They almost went bankrupt when their main battle rifle G36 had melting performance during the Middle East Conflict. So government contract is no longer their bread and butter, US civilian market is. Remember all those limited time production of the oldies. To make money with old molds and tools.

HK 4.6x30mm never really picked up any following. People already have the 5.7x28mm and product placement in Star-Gate. Should have made the MP7 in 5.7x28mm. HK416 is just another piston system only the piston fan boys will love. Should have retool the G36 with a stamped receiver to mitigate the "melting" complain. Should focus on their strengthen of polymer hammer fired pistol instead of jumping into striker fired. Stop trying to "sportlizing" their fire arms for civilian market.

Until the DOJ Roster is eliminated, it’s pretty much a moot point in handguns.

They still hate us. But they're drooling over the success of Sig in the US while HK's fortunes wane. So despite their hatred of gun owning American civilians, they have no choice but to fake they like us to stay viable.
