What the smell is with my CFL

Can anyone tell me if what i have going on is cause for concern

I ordered an item that was perfectly commie Cali compliant on the 9th . This business is in Florida. 3 days into it on the 11th i emailed a polite inquiry on processing times just so i could get a general idea of what's going on .

I was told that they were waiting for a CFL number and that tracking would be emailed when the package ships ..
I have transfered before and there was no such talk of this CFL business .
I know what the CFL is and aside from it being another nanny state reason to jump for joy , I have never experienced a delay like this . Is this the new proverbial 10 waiting period that turned into 30 days stall tactic that we all witnessed not so long ago? Or is this normal?

The CFLC has nothing to do with you, it's the dealer you are having the gun shipped to. All it really does is check if the receiving dealer is in the centralized list of dealers in Ca. I've never heard of a delay on one. I believe there are only two responses to a request. OK to ship with the approval number, and Do Not Ship.

Did one a few months back.
      Was shipped out of Oregon.
No delay, they got the CFLC approval letter/number same day of the request.
Is this the first time the Florida FFL has shipped to California?
Unless they request using USPS see no reason for longer then 1 business day delay.

Kind of in hard spot..do not want to piss off the Florida FFL but need to find why the delay.

To obtain a Firearms Shipment Approval letter 24 hours a day from the CFLC Internet application, Logon to CFLC. You will need the CFLC Logon ID and Password you received during the Internet or mail, fax, or email enrollment process. You will also need the five digit Centralized List number of the CA FFL to whom you intend to ship firearms.

You can also request a Firearms Shipment Approval letter by calling the Bureau of Firearms at (916) 210-2750 or by mailing, faxing, or emailing a CFLC Firearms Shipment Approval Letter Request Form (BOF 08-300) to the Bureau of Firearms. However, you must have enrolled in CFLC prior to submitting a Firearms Shipment Approval Letter Request Form.

Firearms Shipment Approval letter requests received via phone, fax, mail or email will be processed Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. After processing your request, the Bureau of Firearms will fax or email you a Firearms Shipment Approval letter containing the verification approval number."

Ask in the https://www.calguns.net/forum/specia...ms/ffl-s-forum maybe they can help?

It's common for FFL's that have never shipped into CA to be slow to setup their CFLC account and learn the CFLC system.
When cornered about the delay, they will then blame their "not getting around to doing it" on the actual process itself and most customers won't know that they are full of BS and covering their being inept at doing their job.

The issue arose one time for me after winning an auction with Morphy's.

They had my FFL's expired license on file from a past purchase, and needed the updated copy. I personally got that to them bevause I already had a copy on hand, but then they advised they ALSO needed this obvious CA gun acquisition obstruction device known as the CFL.

While my FFL readily had that, it was Wednesday going into Thanksgiving weekend, so I didn't get that CFL number until late on Monday - got it to Morphy's and they shipped out my purchase that Tuesday.

So for the lack of having that CFL number in my immediate grasp, it created a delay of initial shipping by about 6 days.

I'm sure California legislators were relieved to know there was a delay, as surely I was going to use a rare $23,000 firearm to shoot up a school or a post-office, had I gotten that firearm shipped to me any earlier.

          .

It sucks becaus for someone out of state to deal with anything or anyone in California it's like they are going out of their way and I don't want to be that guy again . But I guess I have to . There's just something about paying money for something and then having it kept from me because of some requirement that does nothing but impede my rights .I'll check in with them on Monday.

I definitely do not want to piss them off I already had to cancel an order due to a miscommunication regardingme being told the legality was a go for a great lakes 30 06 on the ar 10 platform . Only to double check 5 min after i orderd it was not .I guess 4+1 non fixed mag ,fixed stock and a muzzle brake is just way too scary for the constitutional violators.
And that is in addition to their policy of store credit on all cancels and returns .so I'm at the total mercy of these guys ..don't get me wrong they were very uderstsnding and accommodating. They could have charged a 15 % restocking fee ,but did not
