    Detailed AR15 question(s).

    Hey,

I have tried serching through all the posts here and elsewhere for a complete list of how to build an AR-15 from absolutely nothing, and can't seem to find it. Only lists are "what else do I need" type lists. Mind I know nothing about what is needed to build one, I don't know if it's a conversion of another gun or a gun you build from scratch even. I've gone to AR15.com as well, which was no help really.

Anyway, what do I need to buy to make one?

    Thanks in advance.
    Marlin 30-30
    Glock 19
    Ruger 10/22
    Benelli M2 Tactical
    S&W .38 Special CRT

the assembly has been gone over many times, here is a very helpful link http://ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=226782
as for the parts to build one you will need to get an unlisted lower from companies such as stag arms, ameetec, lauer, etc. that is the only part that requires an FFL all the other parts can be shipped to your door.
Buttstock (should include buffer and spring, but not always), pistol grip, trigger assembly, lower parts kit (includes all the pins and triggerguard necessary),
A complete upper would be the easier way especially if it is your first build (will include upper reciever, barrel, handguard and either open sights of rail for attaching optics).
And finally a punch set would be useful but it can be done with some improvisation. i think i covered it all.
hope that helps, now go put some lead down range
      Please, calm down.

the truth is, you're not going to find any guide to show you how to build from the ground up. you'll find that one guide on ar15.com that everyone will point you to, or look through bushmaster's dvd... and everyone will tell you to just buy the upper already assembled.
