    Noveske Customer Service

    Sucks, just saying...

I bought a KX3 and the retaining spring / clip broke off the first time out. They offered me a replacement for $7, I told them I just bought it then they got back to me and said they wanted me to send the KX3 in and pay for shipping both ways for them to "inspect it". To ship the KX3 to them and pay for the shipping back to me would cost more than to just buy a new retaining clip and there's no guarantee they'd replace the clip if I had it sent in.

I'm never going to buy Noveske junk again.

Most places do not cover shipping in their warranties; just parts and labor. If your car breaks, does the dealer come pick it up, or do you have to drive/tow it to the dealer/shop? I can see being upset over buying a brand new gun that is broken, and having to pay to ship it back and then paying for a new DROS and waiting another 10 days...but a $7 clip?

When my car breaks, the dealer does send a tow truck and I pay nothing.

I don't see why they can't send you the part. Probably cost them 5 cents

I can second this. Had the most amazing experience with Springfield Armory. They paid the FedEx charges both ways ( as well as making "it" right). Wow !

I said most, and meant that across the board. I don't know which car companies will send a tow truck for things like that, but I don't know anyone who personally gets that with their car from the manufacturer. If a particular dealership does that to entice people to get a car from them or provide above and beyond CS, that's different from a factory warranty. O/T anyways; it was just an example.

EDIT: On a side note, did you buy it from a LGS? Maybe talk to them about shipping it for you? Some will do it for free (CS on their end), or charge you their discounted rate.

It's just the little retaining clip / spring on the flash supressor (KX3), not a gun. I just bought it, it's only been used once for maybe 200 rounds and the little nub that keeps the inner from spinning off broke. It's practically a paper clip thats bent funny. They want $7 for a new one or probably what's closer to $8 or $9 bucks to ship the whole flash supressor to them and back so they can look at it (and maybe replace it)?

1lowluv is probably right, it's probably does cost them only 5 cents to make.
When you buy a brand new car and it breaks the first time you take it out I'm sure any dealer would pay for the tow back and fix the problem...

I'm just not going to buy Noveske stuff anymore. I swear the barrel gets alot hotter with the KX3 on it than without it anyway.

I understand, and the comment about how much it probably costs them to make is probably very on point (I didn't realize the KX3 was a muzzle device either). The mark-up on some things is insane. It almost sounds like a sort of snap ring? Think you could find one that size at a hardware or auto parts store? Snap rings costs cents at such a store. Maybe $1 for a large one, after tax.

LaRue's customer service is generally held in very high regard.

I looked around for something at the hardware store that might work but couldn't find anything. It looks like a snap ring but one end falls down into a slit in the body of the outter housing to keep the inner and outter from rotating. I might have to find some steel wire, bend it, heat treat it and paint it. But there's no way in hell that I'm paying $7 to them.

                    yah thats pretty crappy service....

everytime i had any issues with geiseele or timney they would pay for shipping back and forth and fix it free...

Oh, so the ends are pointed inward/downward? I've seen those types of things before...I think. I'll look around and see if I can find anything.
EDIT: Just saw an upclose picture of said ring as someone else had a problem with it not staying in place. What a horrible way to secure that. For how much that thing costs, they could have (IMO) come up with a better way to secure it. Seems like bending some wire might be the way to go, plus if it comes apart again, you can readily replace it. Meh to Noveske on this one.
EDIT 2: I e-mailed Noveske last night asking if they paid for shipping for warranty work, and this was the response:
Have you already spoken with Joel regarding your warranty issue? Once you have told him what the issue is he will be able to determine if we need to send you a return UPS label. You can reach him by email at Joel@noveske.com or by calling our office and his extension is 204.
Not sure who you talked to, but if not Joel, perhaps another call might yield better results?

For something so simple they wont just send you the part? That's pretty lousy.

Call back! I've had issues and they have taken care of them, ask to speak to a manager.
