If your turrets and reticle are the same (both Mil or both MOA) and your at the correct magnification (usually the highest) then yes, use the reticle as a ruler to measure your come up and windage and dial that in. That is one important reason to have the turrets and reticle be the same. Its alot harder if you have a mil reticle and moa turrets. -

If your reticles and turrets are matched and it's FFP (first focal plane), then yes, you set according to what the reticle tells you if you can spot the impact (Second focal plane reticles only corresponds correctly to the turrets at one specific magnification, usually the highest). It doesn't matter at what distance you're zeroed. Easier is to just use the spot on the retice where the shot landed as your new point of aim.NRA Benefactor Life Member
