Front Sight Defensive Handgun 4 day course

I recently got myself and my wife each a four day defensive handgun course certificate from Front Sight Training Institute out near Las Vegas.

Has anybody been there before? I'm wondering if I should bring any of my other guns, like AR, or the .12 gauge, or JUST the handguns.

Also, has anyone taken the Practical Rifle Course? I was thinking about buying that one too. I don't really know what things are like out there though, but it could be cool right?

Really no point in bringing more than whatever class you're taking. There's not a lot of free time, and if you do manage to find some, you're probably not going to be welcomed on someone else's range shooting up their targets.

If you do have free time, probably should spend it practicing malfunction and reload drills. The four day handgun is a great class, do a search and you will find a lot of useful info.

Handgun course is rather intense. If you take it, you probably won't have the time or energy to go to other ranges and shoot other guns while you're taking the course. In my own experience, I was pretty pooped after the end of each day, and squeezing out the dry fire drills was just about all I could do.

I've heard that the practical rifle course teaches a lot. However, it's the shotgun course that I've heard is the most fun.

Also, try to shop around for a membership. It may be cheaper to buy one of those than to buy two separate course certificates.

Forget the other guns. Unless you stand up all day with a gun in your hand, those will be four long days.
