OP mentioned that he did not see any dent on the primer. Also, if the cause was the firing pin, then should the problem occurred consistently?
Therefore, I rule out the wearing of the firing pin.
    Just saying...

But then your G31 should have worn out the striker long before a 40S&W. .357SIG is running 40 to 44KSI where the 40S&W runs 32 to 35KSI. Something doesn't add up here.

Mixture of winchester clean nt, winchester white box, winchester ranger sxt. It was a major problem requiring the inspection of thousands of firearms.

I bought the model 31 used with an unknown round count and put ~6000 rounds through it with out any issues. I still could have been far south of Glocks magic 10k round point where they recommend replacing certain parts regardless of wear.
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

I've been shooting Glocks since 1992 and have never heard of anything like this. What department are you with? Did the triangle tip of the striker actually wear down? This must have been a huge PITA. What did Glock determine the source of the problem was?

                It's a Gen3 G23.

I'll see if I can get a buddy to go with me so I can take video. I wont do anything to it then try everyones suggestions about the firepin. I only put a drop of lube on the recoil spring when it gets dry and noisy, a drop on each rail guide, a drop between the connector and trigger bar. I'll also spread a drop in the slide where the barrel rubs but no oil on the firing pin spring.

EDIT: Alfred, I know. I actually assumed I would be blasted for asking the question and to be honest, I didn't go into full inspection. It was more of a bang>click>drop>pop>inspect the round and go back to the reloads. I just double checked the 9 rounds that went back into the box and not so much as a scratch. The round ejected so I'm assuming it went into battery. I'll be more thorough next trip.

And on the outside diameter on the front of the barrel, and on the locking block. But lubing or not lubing is not whats going on, after the rest of the rounds worked.

Glock is blaming the ammunition from my understanding and has ceased trying to correct the problem. Not every gun has the same issue but of a sampling of thousands there has been an extremely high number of failures. The glock is going to be discontinued as soon as a suitable replacement is obtained.

I stuck a q-tip into the fire-pin slot and some crud came out. Functioned well minus a few light strikes. The primer had a pretty hard ding in it but I guess their primers are a little tougher than whatever Freedom and Federal run.

Federal primers are about the most sensitive. Maybe Fiocchi ammo doesn't like your Glock?

I personally never cared for Fiocchi ammo myself.
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

I do run a lightened FP spring but it functions flawlessly with a number of other brands.

I did find my ISSC M22 hates Federal 525 bulk! Now I have 5000 rounds of ammo that fails to extract, stove pipes and double feeds. minimag 36g hp & 40g-rn function 100% though. Love the M22, just not sure if I'm keeping it yet.
