    Gun Locks

I have a bunch of gun locks (the ones provided by the manufacturer) that I've saved over the many years.

Any reason I should keep any? They're just clutter (most still in their plastic).

    Nope.

donate them to your local range. Keep a few if you do PPTs.

Gift them to Friends and Family new to gun ownership.

You might want to hang on to one or two in the event an uneducated FFL tries to make you buy one of their locks.

You may want to read the law before passing out advice. Just showing up with an old lock may or may not work. A LGS maybe, one of the big box stores I doubt it.

23635. if all of the following apply:

            (1) The purchaser or transferee purchases an approved safety device no more than 30 days prior to the day the purchaser or transferee takes possession of the firearm.

I also have a bunch of these (perhaps 15 or 20). Totally useless and an absolute waste.

I use them from time to time to hang my steel targets on various items if ground is too hard to put my t posts into the ground. If they get shot, big deal. I have many...

Yeah, you're right. I can't keep up with this crap anymore.

Use them to practice your lock picking skills.

I still have the "factory" locks that came with the pistol purchase (as well as the original case, included accessories and documents). I figured, in case I sell one, I can include the original lock as part of the sale so the user doesn't have to purchase one (unless it's from Turners ). I did sell 2 of them last year (not at Turners )

I did buy a few from Turner's way back so I have 2 locks for those. The OG is on the case, the "extras" are hanging from a peg board in my garage.

I actually find those crappy $8 cable gun locks harder to pick than than real padlocks. Might just be me though.

I donated many of those (new in package) to a LGS when they first opened, so that folks could complete their purchases. Those locks also are good for disabling the bicycles that vagrants and other undesirables use.
