These folks are having a fun time! And they are not bad shots either. The old granny is awesome. Just how old is she, 80 maybe hitting 90? Full armor, dozen 50 cal shot, powder, 10 p rifle, and a peppy sprint.

Women with no eye protection with sparks flying everywhere. Strange.

When I was in Japan in 95, the TV had ads for mountain resorts that offered shotgun clays. The participants were always cute girls in their early 20s for some reason.

Don't know the current state of affairs in Japan, but in the 80's I shot with a Japanese National who was in the US long(ish)-term. He said that it was legal to own a shotgun in Japan, but not rifles or pistols. Shotguns had to be kept at the range that it was to be fired at which meant that the shooter had to be a member of said club, and the waiting list for club memberships was on the order of 20 years. Which kind of explains the shooting tourism from Japan to the US back then, I guess.

I had a boatload of guns in Japan - rifles, pistols, and shotguns. Shot them all the time.

But, the ranges were on base.

These are basically Japanese Civil War re-enactors?

If you were on base, it was likely considered not part of Japan.

I lived off base and kept the guns at the house. But yes, we were a 'special' situation.

Wait till they hear about rifling and paper cartridges.
