Remington 870 serial number

Remington 870 receiver serial location?? If i need to view the number for Ppt or government form.
If I sprayed it with AlumaHyde and can't see the number?.
Can a gunsmith or ceracoat person, help to remove the AlumaHyde only?

Are you asking where the serial number is located? Left side of the receiver near the stock....very commonly covered up by a shell holder.

Probably cost the same to remove all the alumahyde. Not just in the serial number location. Would definitely look a lot better as well, I's think.
