Since this is a excise tax are prices just going to be increased to reflect the 11% dealers have to pay or is it going to be added as an additional tax on the invoice? I am wondering because I will be DROSing another firearm in June which I will pay in full at time of order but pick up will be after July 1st.

To the best of my understanding, the 11% tax will be added to the transaction.
If you pay in full before July 1, you should not be charged the unconstitutional tax.

Private party ammo sales I guess will get a boost1. Compared to what?

The end goal of these politicians (and proven historically) is that you either become a slave to their wishes, or end up as fine ash dumped by the truckload in a river.

That 11% is a big reason I just bought another Beretta O/U shotgun right away. I had planned on it later in the year, but I wasn't going to spend damn near 20% on taxes. FGV!!...while the buffoon in the White House prances around celebrating butt sex.Comment

I'm trying to understand how somehow photo id for voting is racist but somehow this is in line with the constitution?
"Retail sales of guns and ammunition will soon be subject to a new state excise tax in California. Under Assembly Bill 28, which Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law on September 26, 2023, an 11% tax will apply to gross receipts from retail sales of ammunition, firearms, and firearm precursor parts starting July 1, 2024. Revenue generated by the tax will be deposited in a new Gun Violence Prevention and School Safety Fund."
Will everyone in Cali get refunds when this is ruled unconstitutional?LIVE FREE OR DIE!

The two previous posts are on point.
First the constitution doesn't seem to apply to CA; we already see that with plenty of infringements on the 2A.
I, like post #25 do not get how this hasn't been overruled already. It seem blatantly unconstitutional. And
like post #26 notes its going to hurt casual shooting sports. One gentlemen I've introduced to shooting just
a year ago and is all in now keeps harping on me to go to the range with him and another that I got on board.
Sorry guys I don't have that kind of money to blow through 45 acp, 357 and 9mm like they can.1. Compared to what?
