    Purchase

When you buy a gun from a FFL dealer do you have to physically go there or can you have them ship it to your house? The reason why I ask is because manufacturers actually allow custom made guns for people and I was wondering how can they get them if they have to be shipped to their local FFL dealer. Also if you wanted to buy a gun but it had to be processed to the FFL and there was no guns in stock and/or wasn't a manufacturer inventory for the FFL dealer, then how would that work?

Oh and considering you've already have all necessary paperwork done.

Per Federal and CA state laws, you must pick up the firearm in person at the FFL dealer's place of business.

Manufacturers ship custom made firearms to FFL dealers, where they are transfered in accordance to Federal & state laws.

You pay for the firearm and then the FFL dealer orders it.
You wait, until the firearm gets shipped to the FFL dealer.
You then do the 4473/DROS + 10 day wait for the firearm.

You can't do the paperwork (4473/DROS) until the firearm is in the FFL dealer's inventory.

Okay then I'll keep that in mind. So that's in every state since it's federal?
