    Gun Cleaning

Hi everyone. New to gun ownership and to site. I was wondering if anyone can direct me to classes and/or suggestions on cleaning my new gun. Just picked up a Sig P226 40 cal and am in love. Want to make sure I do it right. Thank you!

sometimes the best thing to do is to read the manual. All the pistols i have bought have had takedown/field stripping instructions.

If your pistol didn't come with a manual, there are plenty of videos on youtube.

      Here's one that i found.

Get to know your gun. Learn it parts, its accessories, its sights, and its barrel. Keep it clean and ready.

Dont clean your gun like you're gonna eat with it.

When you're having fun, it looks like this:

Just avoid steel cleaning rods. Aluminum or carbon are good.
