gun buying craze and extra shifts causing QC issues?

first tales of revolver defects at S&W, now this report of spotty Marlin lever guns.

Then there is(was?) that Rem 887 with the weird plastic.

Well, ANY other industry tend to suffer QC issues when running extra shifts or otherwise in very high demand.

I feel like I'd need to take a real gun expert along to buy a new gun, to try and catch all these defects.

I'm trying to talk myself into holding off any new buys until prices drop, and any QC are found out and made known.

      Probably one factor.

      Marlin moved and changed staff.

Ruger seems to have had a lot of issues with their new 10/22 take down. Probably because they where pushing to get them out quickly.

Maybe its just because it was a new product and there are growing pains?

You can sit on the fence forever. None of us know what is going on at the factories of our favorite makers. Maybe we should avoid guns made on Mondays or Fridays or overtime shift or whatever.
I suggest buying from a quality maker. Ruger and S&W and many other makers have built their brand on their willingness to fix what is not perfect.
I have personally bought around 15 new guns in my life. The only ones that gave me any trouble were a Marlin .22 Rifle, a Jennings J22, and a Taurus .38 Revolver. The Rugers, Savage, Beretta, Colts, CZ, Bersa, Mossberg, and Heritage Mfg. were all fine.
          Good luck.

Seems like SIG had their problems long before recent QC issues.
