    FRICK! Guns stolen from home..

Never thought it would happen to me..how many times have we heard that before.

On Monday, 3 guns were stolen from my house. My brother was sleeping at the time (he works nights) when he heard unfamiliar male voices. He valiantly tried to defend our property and tackled one of them. But he was outnumbered and one of them came running and tried to take a big old swing at him while he tackling the other one..also they could have been armed. He did the right thing and protected himself and they ran off with our ****. At least he's okay..

But I'll be damned if I ain't pissed right now. By brother called the cops when everything was safe and called me right after. I was at school when this happened (they must have waited for me to leave). I tore asphalt back home in 10m and cops arrived shortly thereafter. They got a description of the crooks and my serial numbers. The neighbors told PD that there was a suspicious car hanging around the street that day 30m before the burglary, but no license place.

The worst part is it wasn't just some random smash and grab: we actually know one of them! He used to be a foster kid that lived with us years ago who is now living on the streets as a runaway - so he knew exactly where to go. Not only am I missing thousands of dollars of equipment, but now I feel betrayed by someone who I cared for very much.

Besides the Xbox360 and PS3 they stole, they also got my AR15, my 1911, and a 45 carbine. Thank god the other 8 rifles I own are locked away in the safe (where my other guns should have been in the first place). Should have bought a bigger one as it was only large enough for 5 guns and there is literally no room left in there. Next time, don't buy guns unless you have enough room in your safe or metal gun cabinet. That just goes to show that you can't be too careful - I trusted that my guns would be safe in the house with an adult family member present but all it takes is seconds.

Thankfully, PD arrested the little SOB about 9 hours later. The 1911 was still on his person but the rifles were nowhere to be seen. He had a big wad of cash on him so we all know what that means.

I'm thankful I got that 1911 back, it was a Colt WWI repro so I had to jump through a bunch of hoops to get it. But I lost a $1300 NM AR15 and a $400 high point carbine for a total of $1700 lost.

I just hope they find those other guns someday and they aren't used to hurt anyone else due to my stupidity. I've read some threads on here and it seems like some people get lucky and get theirs right away or they find it 10 years later during a traffic stop and the gun comes up on the system as stolen. At least I don't leave my guns loaded in the house as a general rule. I don't know which is worse, knowing my guns are on the street or that I was betrayed by someone who I tried to help out of the kindness of my heart.

Get a saf.... But you already have a safe

Honestly, sounds like bad luck buddy. I can only imagine how mad one would get after being violated like that.

Glad you recovered at least one of them though. That's a plus
"Then there are sheepdogs. The sheepdogs are the bastions of safety. The sheepdog lives solely to protect the flock and confront the wolf. They live for the opportunity to be called to duty to protect the innocent. The sheepdog has fangs and the propensity for violence but hopes that he will not have to resort to it. However, he lives for that day when he will be able to use his warrior skills and mindset to keep the wolf from harming the sheep."

Looks like I should start locking up the non-defense items.
            Safe-time for me...

              Thanks for the condolences.

I was mad for about the first hour or so. But after that I was just depressed and hopeless. For one thing, the PD tells me he is affiliated with the Bulldogs ! So though he's in jail, who knows how many of his "homies" he told about us. I literally couldn't sleep that night - I stayed up the entire night, armed, sitting on the couch and watched/listened/waited. It sucked.

I guess I might as well add "piece of mind" to the police report of things they stole from me.

Sorry man, seems like no good deed goes unpunished. Atleast no one was hurt. Maybe you will get lucky and get the AR back.

Just out of curiosity, where the doors locked? How did they get in?

I am constantly reminding people that even when you are home, it is easy for someone to walk in your house, steal something and leave without you even being aware if you are in another part of the house or bathroom or???

Yes, the doors and windows were locked but we don't have any security monitors or systems. Just locks and bars.

The thing is, he used to lived here so he knows all the "weak spots" so-to-speak. He used to sneak out at night to get high and stuff which is why we had him removed. They had already grabbed all the electronics and were on the way out with my guns before my brother ever even woke up. Had they kept their mouths shut my brother would have never been wiser (he sleeps with earplugs).

That is a good point though, DVsmith. However, I apologize for my rudeness - though we DO know how they came in I won't post that information on the internet .

Not rude at all and makes good sense. Sorry to hear about the loss in any case.

Sorry to hear about what happend.
Glad your brother is safe and you have one of your firearms back.

I hope they catch the other guys soon, Im sure it will pop up soon enough.

My Glock 23 which I gave to my brother was stollen 2 months back, it was recovered on a raid in a motel complex in Fresno! Less then 4 weeks since it was stollen.
Still waiting for it since its being held as evidence.

They stole your things and your trust. Double bad.
                              Sorry for both.
