My New Ammo and Powder Storage Container.

I have been storing my ammo and powder in my Sturdy Safe. I have a slight problem, I am running out of room for my guns! So I happened to stop off at the Sears Outlet Store and came across a Craftsman tool chest side locker with sliding drawers and locking front door.

It is heaver gauge than their normal chests. It built for their Pro series. I am going to mount it to the wall in a corner, sandwiched between the wall and my safe. I plan on welding bar stock to the door to deter a prybar. I will reinforce inside the door and weld on 2 additional lock hasps.

Cool. How much weight can the shelves carry?

It is built with the same slides as my Craftsman Pro Series chest and they hold 100+ pounds. I threw in 35 pounds of weight and the drawer did not flinch.

I got this one at the Rancho Cordova store. They had another in Navy blue. I paid $336 OTD, new they are about $550. The guy at the store says they get new stock at least once a week. The Rancho store had a good selection of chests.

Just a thought. Will one of the panels blow out under pressure? If not, a reinforced metal cabinet becomes a bomb if the stuff inside catches fire.

Drill a bunch of small holes in the bottom so if it does have a fire issue, it will make a great (big) bottle rocket! *store the BP on the top*
With all this "gun control" talk, I've not heard one politician say how they plan on taking guns from criminals, just law abiding Citizens.

Its not sealed like a pressure vessel. It would not explode like a bomb.
