    I built my father-in-law an AR before my wife and I got hitched.

    I also coach him at the range, load him ammo and teach him how to clean it. I don't think he worries about me; I'm a big goofy b@st@rd and his daughter is smarter and shoots better than me.

      No daughters, but dated many. The most intimidating thing in an involved parent. If the father was interested and asked what we are doing, and what time we would be there, it commanded respect. If your daughter is 15, show up just once where they say they will be. I promise it just takes once.

      As much as we want to protect daughter...they really do dictate what happens in the relationship. If they want to follow your rules, they will.
