Just picked up my Noveske 5.56 AR this weekend and on it was a "bullet Button" this thing is horrible. When did this new infringement start and is there a work around, maybe if it was built "PRE BB" era. Or are they making everyone retrofit there rifle ?

I can find too much PLAIN english for a very grey law

Brandon, there is tons of documentation and threads about this in plain English, there is even a sticky and wiki. Nothing "Grey" about this at all.

Like was posted, where are you located? I'm going to assume you're in California, but nowadays you never know.

And yes there is a work around. You just have to build or convert your rifle to a featureless rifle. No BB and if you owned hi cap mags pre 2000, you can use them as well. I'll let you do some research for yourself now.

Thanks for the links I will research on my own(thats not the problem) being a new owner and to the forum I did not understand the terms I researched like "pistol grip" I was under the impression that all AR's has "pistol grips" I was not asking to be "SPOON FED" information. I apologize to Vin496 and skkeeter for asking a dumb question. I will look elsewhere.

If you need help I can walk you through it using the AGs website as a source of information. That way you are getting it right from the horses mouth as to; who, what where and why the law is what it is. It is easy when you have it explained to you. There are many threads here about it, but sometimes there is a lot of noise in the threads which makes it hard to read. Just PM me if you need to.

When did this new infringement start

It basically started in 1999 with the passage of the assault weapons ban. It's 12 years old dude.

The bullet button thing was figured out in around 2003/2004 timeframe.

The bullet button *IS* the workaround.

Alternatively, you can remove the pistol grip, forward grip, flash hider, and collapsible stock and do away with the bullet button.
