    US postal service!!

My hat is off to the USPS!!! went down there to send a care package off to my buddy who is in the sandbox (SGT. Somoza, Christian G 1/11 C Btry 2nd Platoon)
and sent a package to him last week Monday (12/17/2007). We were going to send it to him earlier but we got sidetracked. (not a good excuse, but is there ever a good one?) he got it on Christmas day!!! USPS got a package to him in ONE WEEK!! when i sent it to him the lady behind the counter said it was going to get there in three weeks! I was blown away when my buddy called me telling me he got the package!! I know he won't admit it but the package that he received really cheered him up! I could tell it in his voice and in his attitude!

THANK YOU United States Postal Service!!!

thought i would just let everyone know!

I go to the post office almost every day as part of my gunsmithing business.
I ship weekly and most times, the priority mail gets across country in 2-3 days.
Great service for the price compared to UPS/FedEx.

One of the guys that pulls my oversized PO Box packages even asked me to work on a gun for him once.
I told him it would probably be best for him to come to my shop rather than bringing the gun to work for me to look at.

It is not the USPS. It is the Chairforce, ARMY, USMC or the Navy that take the packages over there in a hurry. USPS turns it over to DOD and DOD gets it to the sand box.

Bad USPS service in my area. I have a sign by the door bell that reads "Please knock, doorbell is out of service" USPS person never knocks and always leaves the little paper for me to go to the post office.

Believe it or not the USPS has employees actually driving the mail from Kuwait to points north in Iraq. My son escorts supply convoys and has seen the USPS semis and drivers many times in the convoys. He says that the Joes feel good about escorting the mail compared to semi loads of frozen burger patties for Burger Kings at the various FOBs in Iraq.

Maybe it's time to fix your doorbell?

What is it with NAVY bases and doorbells?

I got a box from APO delivered TO the states in 5 DAYS and it arrived Xmas eve. I have never seen it that fast.

In 2002 to Uzbekistan it took 3 months for a care package to arrive to me. It was still a frozen tundra and I needed the cold weather gear but each day I thought, man, should i buy this nice gear right in FRONT of me at the mini BX or wait till my package arrives and freeze a bit more.............

My folks, who live in a small California town pretty far from a major airport, sent a Christmas greeting letter letter to relatives in the Netherlands. They handed it over the counter at their local post office on Wednesday (12/19) and our relatives called and said they received it on Friday (12/21)!

I've always had good service with USPS. I usually get my orders from Midway in 2 days where Fed Ex usually takes 6-7 days and cost twice as much.

Very cool. Just 2 weeks ago I shipped an item I had sold on Ebay to Australia via USPS Priority International. It was delivered to the buyer's house in Sydney 4 days later... which was 1 day less than it took USPS Priority to bring me something up from Bakersfield which is just a couple hundred miles away. Go figure!
