So I tried to order a set of FDE battery compartments from vltor for an emod stock almost two months ago, and paid with prepaid credit card , I get a call later saying the payment couldnt be processed . So I call the card company , and they say the transaction is pending, I then call Vltor back and the girl says " well we haven't recieved it".After several calls back and forth , I give up, and decide to ask my GF to use her card. I order very carefully my FDE compartments. I'm happy as a clam right? A couple days later the girl calls and says they are out of stock on the dark earth kit now, and will ship Friday, no biggy. So I track my compartments to my door, dive on my mailman and wrestle the box open ... Black. /growl

It was like opening a box with a hand inside giving me the finger. At least my mail man is a buddy and took it as a return on the spot. I'm thinking of selling off the vltor parts I have and not rockin their stuff any more.

Nothing new, I had my share. Also a lady answered the phone asked a couple of questions regarding a product straight attitude, an attitude with are your going to buy or what because your wasting my time. Sorry OP, it sucks when this happens.

how about the time they sent extruded buffer tubes in kits when they ran out of forged tubes... that was a nice slap in the face too. I crossed VLtor off my list at that point. If they had been upfront about it, I would have given them slack.

Just out of curiosity, how do you tell the difference? I've never thought to look, and the only collapsible buffer tube I have is a VLT0R A5, so I'm not sure what to look for?

When I talked to the lady about them last year, she said they would retail for $300. Well, at least their on the website at $169 now.

Dumped the VLTOR mod stock off my LWRCI for a Magpul. Don't regret it at all.

Haven't finished reading through all of that yet, but everything that I can find suggests that the only problem extensions are 5-position with a silk-screened logo, and were purchased from DS Arms to fill a temporary shortfall in stock.

My buffer tube is a 7-position A5, with the forged-in / engraved / whatever logo. It'd be hard for them to order these from someone else, since VLT0R is still the only company that's making these.

I guess I'm not going to worry about it.

No, I think yours is fine. Its a high end grade stock kit. One of the best in the business. I just fault VLTor for not disclosing their switch, still charging top dollar and stubbing their noses at people who originally complained.

Thats why I crossed them off my list of reputable manufacturers. It has nothing to do with the quality of their products (not all of them). It has to do with their sales ethics. I may change my tune in years to come...as I have with Colt, S&W, Spikes and Bushmaster.

Vltor products seem nice, quality... Companies have to earn my business and reading multiple comments here makes me think I won't be giving them such an opportunity. Sorry SocomM4! I know how you feel when a package arrives... Only to be NOT as expected!

Talked to Vltor today, seems I DID order FDE compartments . Told her I refused the box and it's on the way back. She says my FDE ones will ship tomorrow morning .

Seems like a stupid mistake but they are making it right.
