Smith & Wesson customer service kicks ***

So I bought an M&P9c just under a year ago, and had it out twice to shoot. I cleaned it and stored it in my closet. Not long after I found rust on the slide, and the front sight dot's paint had come off during some racking and dropping the slide. I put off contacting S&W for some time due to other things going on, but finally did 3 weeks ago.

I asked for a night sight upgrade, and a second pinky rest for my other magazine. I got a replacement slide with night sights, and a complete pinky rest mag. I felt pretty greedy even asking for that much, but they went above and beyond what I asked. Good ****.

Good to hear they made it right
"Then there are sheepdogs. The sheepdogs are the bastions of safety. The sheepdog lives solely to protect the flock and confront the wolf. They live for the opportunity to be called to duty to protect the innocent. The sheepdog has fangs and the propensity for violence but hopes that he will not have to resort to it. However, he lives for that day when he will be able to use his warrior skills and mindset to keep the wolf from harming the sheep."

Glad to hear, thinking of getting an M&P9 for my girlfriend. Do M&P's have a tendency to rust?

Some earlier versions did have an issue with the finish from what I've found. And the dot problem seems to be pretty common too.

+1 on S&W customer service. I had to send my 1911 Doug Koenig back to them after just 20 rounds down range. They were very polite, and said they said that they put a rush on getting the repair done. I had it back within a week ( it actually beat the letter they sent saying that they had received my gun).
