are hand carts or folding dollies allowed at gunshows

i'm a complete noob as far as what to expect at a gunshow. my uncle advised me to bring a dolly or a handtruck if i expect to buy ammo. i know he's been to a few of them. but i question his move because, i've looked up some references about bringing such equipment in. it states that carts and dollies are not allowed to go in, only if you are a vendor. is this statement true?

i'm headed to the crossroads show next saturday to get an idea as to what vendors offer & maybe buy some ammo at least. people say prices are off the roof. i already have a list and pricing guide i started putting together.

i usually leave the handtruck in the car. after i walk through i go and get the handtruck. if you see the ammo selling fast then buy it. i use the folding handtruck.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

The larger ammo vendors have handtrucks you can use if you make a large purchase, just leave your drivers license to borrow the hand truck, or what I do if I'm anticipating a large purchase, I bring my own heavy duty hand truck with a chain and lock, and then I chain it to a post just outside one of the buildings, then I can enjoy the show purchase my ammo and when I'm ready to leave, p/u my cases, unlock the hand truck load it up and leave.

We took a wagon and hauled our stuff around; also had to post "guards" on wagon, due to all the wandering eyes on our stuff. But, when you go to a gunshow with 2 grizzlie bears, not much will happen.

This is good advice. If you don't have a folding hand truck, use the vendor's because hauling a 3-4ft dolly around the show will irritate you and others. It gets crowded.

I bring one to crossroads every time I go, but that is in San Diego. Not sure where your show will be next weekend (not in S.D.).

Also, some vendors will give you better deals with cashola... Bring plenty!

as a crossroads vendor, i can safely say YES you can bring a handcart, wagon, hand truck, stroller even a pallet jack if your that serious. the guys who really know what they are doing bring those ones that fold up and go on their back until they are ready to buy. I also loan out my hand truck if people leave me their ID, for when they buy my heavier products.

and yes i have seen customers with pallet jacks, i watched a guy at the SAR show in phoenix buy 21k in ammo and he used a pallet jack to wheel it all out. mostly wolf .223, although there was some .308 in there too.

I take a folding one as well and just carry it like a briefcase; I've never received so much as a second look.

If this is your first show in Reno the only thing I can say is I was excited as the day I got my drivers license. There is something there for any body. My wife has a CCW and loves the purses and the tanned hides and memorabelia(SP) is wonderful.
Enjoy the day come early and stay late.
