outta state gun buy

So, i've bought a lot of guns from out of state through gunbroker. . . I buy it and it's shipped to my ffl here in my area where i do the dros, 10 day wait, etc. . .

I'm heading to the big Reno gun show this weekend and want the option of getting a gun there. My understanding was i could pay for it and they would mail it to my ffl here in the Bay. I would never take possession, etc. . .

Last time i brought it up at a reno gun show they kept refusing. Am i missing something or are they just not wanting to go through the effort?

They are probably just worried that everything including water guns are illegal here and don't want to go through the hassle.

This exactly. most people just dont want to deal with California

Californian gun laws are so perverse and draconian that "free state" dealers just dont want the headache, most states dont restrict models or magazine capacity, but since california does it creates confusion among people who are not familiar with CA gun laws. therefore most "free state" dealers worry about their liability when dealing with a Californian, because the overwhelming majority of them just dont know anything about CA gun laws other than they are strict, confusing, and draconian.

I have a guy whom ive bought +/- 25 guns from in new mexico. He says that with such small mark ups on guns its not worth the time or headache to deal with ca. Even an extra 10 minutes of time per transaction can be a deal breaker.

I use a middle man FFL to get my online purchase to CA if the original dealer refuses to ship to CA directly.

I know that doesn’t help your in person reno buying.

I know that with my C&R I can travel to another state, buy a C&R handgun, and bring it back with me as long as it is logged through my book and registered with DOJ when I arrive back in the state.
