Gun in hand influences your viewpoint?

Having a gun makes you view others as having a gun

I read this article and it gave an interesting perspective. Another thing to acknowledge and think about.

And owning a car makes you view others as owning cars.....

you can do that with anything.
The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

Well hold on here for a second. I find great pleasure in understanding and delight in airing my own opinions. How come I'm still a fool?

It didn't get much traction last time, because everyone knows:

A gun in hand is worth two in the bush. Anything else is wrong.

But what if the two in the bush were mint condition consecutive number Union Switch & Signal WWII 1911s? Those two together might actually be worth four to six modern guns.

And when you pick them up, they'll be in your hands and thus worth 4 in the bush.
