Help a fellow gun enthusiast out

Look I've unfortunately just been neglegent of my collection of guns due to work and studies, I'd just like some help and or directions on how to clean a certain few things on my rifles that haven't been cleaned in a while and have a blue substance on it.

I have two ARs that have battlecomps on them, I haven't been able to figure out a way to clean them thoroughly especially due to the blue build up. If anyone has experience with the BattleComp muzzle break for an AR 15 I'd appreciate any tips.

Also, I bought an M1A Scout and have put about 300 rounds through it, does it need to be cleaned yet and if so is there a difference between oiling the gun and using grease after its clean?

And any Benelli M4 owners out there it would be much appreciated if you could pm me about your M4, have a few questions on cleaning certain sections I haven't been able to find how to do.

Appreciate all you C'Gunners and any help I can get.

**ALSO BEFORE ANYONE COMMENTS ON THE CLEAN IT EVERYTIME YOU SHOOT IT MOTTO, I understand that but I have just had no time since I shot and simply need some help on how to clean guns that haven't been touched in a while**

What is blue buildup? Could it be oxidized copper jacket material?

    From Battle Comp Enterprises.

How do I clean my BattleComp?
Non-toxic degreasers are encouraged, but just about any household degreaser will work. A short soak and scrub with a nylon brush should be sufficient (please don’t use Acetone with a plastic brush).

How often should I clean my BattleComp?
We recommend you clean the BattleComp after every firing session. While carbon does not build up quickly on the BattleComp, keeping your weapon and its BattleComp clean enhances both of their effectiveness. We are told ultrasonic cleaners work very well.

There is a difference between oil and grease. Grease stays where it's needed. In the case of your M1A it would be the bolt roller. http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ad.php?t=88475

    It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.
