    MechTech + Complete lower?

I've read tons of mixed information on the legality of carbine conversions but what about purchasing a receiver and a mechtech system? If legal, I'd rather go that route as opposed to neutering my Glock and simply keep the other a pair.
Perhaps many would think it defeats the purpose of the kit -- the ability to switch back and forth, but I'm simply after an "AR" that doesn't break the bank and fires less costly pistol rounds.
I apologize if this has been answered but from all of the reading today my brain is fried and I've yet to find a solid answer.

    Thanks in advance.

news brother, 9mm is not cheaper than .223. No pistol round is.

Look at the .22LR variety. Thay can be had from $400 up to $600, and you'll have more fun with it than a .223 anyway. Just pretend it's a .223 with a silencer

Or... EMF corp makes one caled the JR Carbine. Uses glock mags, sells for @600 iirc.

      And it actually works!

Where are you getting your ammo where .223 is cheaper than 9mm? I don't have anything against .22's but I personally don't find them as interesting.
I've read about the EMF's because I liked the idea of using Glock mags as opposed to no-name garbage but I see a lot of "...had to send it in for..." experiences.
I like the Mechtech systems, though pretty ugly, they're definitely different and the combo would run around the same price as other 9mm carbines. Also, as pointless as it may seem, I wouldn't have to venture away from the trigger/grip I'm familiar with.

Mech tech claims to use Jarvis barrels too. I had one in .40 and recall thatteh accuracy at 50yds was really good with a scope... like around 2-3"

Also.. if you are a handloader, youc an load specific rifle loads for your carbien that will optimize balistics.

Actually, 9mm IS cheaper than .223 on average, even if you're comparing 9mm to milspec 5.56 which is typically cheaper

But I do get your point to the OP. If you're looking for something to save on the cost of firing .223/5.56 ammo, you might as well get a .22 conversion. You can run the same barrel and just swap out the BCG/magazines. It'll save you more on both ammo and upfront costs.
