    Rebluing a Revolver

I want to Re-Blue an old revolver and I need to know two things.

    1. Price - I am considering either S&W or Turnbull, and I've heard Turnbull costs a lot more. Now both websites for each company advertise $200 online so I need input from people who have had their guns Reblued from both S&W and Turnbull. I also heard Turnbull does a better job so I'm leaning towards them if the costs are not horrible.

Basically how much does the final tab come to after parts and labor for both companies.

    2. Quality - What kind of quality does each company offer currently? I've heard S&W has more of a black color when redone and I wanted to know if Turnbull has better coloring. Also how well does each finish protect the gun and how long does it last?

How bad is the revolver now and is it pitting? Rust? If pitting and depending how deep the reblueing won't hide that. Also Ford blueing (you can google them) in Florida is really top notch as well. A lot to do with blueing is the prep work as well. What are your intentions with the revolver after? Carry and use? Family pass down? Good luck in your choice.
