Moving from Alaska need some help

I have a few questions and hope this is where to post them.. I currently own a few guns and was wondering if i would have a problem bringing my USP .45 full size to cali. Also im close to a deal on an Ed Brown Model Special Forces .45 w/5" barrel and was wondering these were legal in Cali.Last question... Since i already own a few 12rd mags for my HK can i bring them to cali with me or are they Illegal??? Thanks for the help on this.

You can bring in all those guns, and maybe even buy a couple more before you move.

Legally, you are required to disassemble the >10rd mags to bring them into CA, (and leave them disassembled). You also can't legally drive over the speed limit while moving here.

No, I am not advocating breaking the law, just stating what the law says.

Why leave AK? It is so beautiful there, a lot less people, lower tax rates, better hunting and fishing opportunities, better gun laws, ok so milk is $4/gal.
My brother lives in North Pole, I wish I could move up there by him.

You wanna move here and the majority of us wannamove outta this Nannie state. Why? The only reason I'm still here is family. If i can get them to relocate, i'd be gone by the end of the week.

^^ probably to have a damned job. Alaska isn't the overwhelming employees market of waiting jobs and low rents that everyone thinks. It's cold, everything is expensive, shipping anything is a nightmare, you have to fly to go anywhere outside of town and there aren't a lot of employment opportunities where you're not liable to be really super cold or or dirty or both.

Moving back because the wife is going crazy up here. She wants to be back home with some family since I work so many hours and have 2 young ones. I LOVE it here and have been here in Anchorage for 3 1/2 years. I kinda feel free lol. I will definitely miss it but once the kids grow up were will move back..

Elsolo are there any restrictions on what guns I bring or does it matter since I legally own them here?

You need to check the list, if the guns are listed then you cannot bring them into the state. Also, if you have AR's or AK's or any centerfire rifle that can have a detachable mag (i.e. no bullet button, also pistols where the mag doesn't insert into the grip) they need to be featureless. Check the flowchart here on Calguns. Someone will come along and add some more detail. Also, make sure to send in vol reg's for your pistols within I think 60 days.

You need to talk some sense into her. Stay in " Free America " don't fall victim to the weather excuse. Have the family move up to America.
