    Shooting in Las Vegas

I'm heading out to vegas tomorrow and want to shoot my newly built FAL and AK. Where can I go? I'll be staying on the strip and don't want to drive all the way out to the desert if I can help it. Are there any ranges anyone can recommend where I can shoot rifles?

All the ones I'm finding are all handgun round/shotgun ranges.

    Thanks

You can go to American Shooter's. If they still have a range, you can shoot rifles in there up to 25yds. Otherwise, check out the Clark Co. Shooting Park. It's a bit of a drive but it's a brand new outdoor complex that's nice and cheap. Should take 30-40 min to drive there from the strip.

American Shooter's has pricey ammo. Have to use their ammo and at $17 for a box of 7.62x39 maybe I will drive out to the desert.

Interesting that their .308 is cheaper at $16 a box. Maybe he thought I said .380!

I might take the drive to the shooting park, thanks for the tip.

Clark County Shooting park is a great outdoor range, anytime I'm in Vegas I head up there.

I don't think the desert is as far away as you think it is. The shooting spots between the Sloan exit and Jean are closer to the strip than CCSP. If you want a range for rifles CCSP is pretty much the best choice. Get there early -- they get busy as the day progresses.

People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.
