    Interesting news for black-powder fans...

    A couple of links to some interesting black-powder items:

    Finally, a replacement for black-powder that doesn't suck:

    And an over/under muzzleloading rifle (not a shotgun):

    All it mentions is inliner usage. Any idea how this relates to replicas? I have never used Triple Seven. He says Triple Seven packs more power than Pyrodex or black powder, and that this packs less power than Triple Seven.

      More power? I get identical velocities from the same charge of Triple 7 and Pyro RS.

          I think it said 2f, which is fine for the main load, but would be useless in the pan. Well, I've never tried 2f in the pan, might work, but everyone I've talked to says 4f in the pan.

            One step closer to the Ultimate BP longarm!

            A .50 caliber barrel over a 12Ga barrel! I figure about 24" would give a good burn and still be handy in a breakopen format. The Shotbarrel should be fitted with removable chokes, and both barrels pirmer nipples should unscrew. (Like the T/C BBL). If both were 209 Primed with fold down rifle sights (for shotgunning), I can't thing of a better utility gun!

            I always wondered why there weren't more double barrelled BP firearms. This and the shotguns and "Alaskan" rifle from Cabela's seem to be the whole of it.

              Some quick googling came up with links to this article:

              <http://forums.bowcountry.com/bcforum...ead.php?t=9178>
              <http://hpmuzzleloading.net/SpecialReport2.html>

              Apparently this powder is designed for 209 *ONLY*. The reviewer tried percussion caps but had no luck with them. Nuts. Looks like still no good non-corrosive non-fouling BP-equivalent. (Other than smokeless, of course.)
