    Help w/ Next Firearm Purchase

Hello everyone, I am trying to figure out what I should get for my next firearm, and could use some help. My last poll help me out a great deal, and I hope for the same results here.

I will be getting this firearm around June and want to start early on getting money saved up as well as doing some research for best prices.

Here are the choices and why:

Mossberg 590- I don't own a shotgun yet, and this shotgun appeals to me (I do not want a 870). This would be used for defensive purposes, as well as maybe some skeet/trap (not dedicated purpose of course)

Saiga 5.45x39- I do not have an AK pattern rifle yet, but I do have a 7.62x39 rifle already. I also would like to drop mags freely and shoot cheap ammo. This would be used for plinking.

Yugo Mauser- I am a big fan of older firearms, and I hear good things about the mauser design. This would be a cheap way to get into mausers and maybe get a better one in the future. This would be used as an occasional shooter/ collector piece.

Saiga 410- Idk why, but I have an obsession with the 410 round. I was watching a special on Guns & Ammo TV on the round, and it appealed to me. This would be both a semi auto shotgun and an AK pattern rifle. I am not interested in any other Saiga shotguns. The main purpose of this would be defense and cool factor. This would almost be a safe queen of sorts (would do it up nice and purdy)

I like to have firearms that are different then what is common. Thank you guys for the help!

You don't say what you want to do with these choices? Plinkers, HD, competition or duck hunting?

While I think .410s are cool, ammo is more expensive and harder to find. Mossbergs are good shotguns generally. Not sure where rifles enter the picture here?

Do you want a rifle or a shotgun for your next gun seems to be the first decision that you need to make.

You need to focus as to what you want the gun for and decide whether you want a shotgun or a rifle.

Sorry about that, I updated it to show my use for each firearm.

I voted for a Yugoslavian Mauser because I want one. If you had said Saiga in .223 I would have voted for that.

I voted for the Mossberg 590.
Everyone should have a 12gauge for home defense.

Close second is the Yugo Mauser.

All of the inexpensive surplus 5.45x39mm ammo is steel core and some outdoor ranges ban the use of steel core ammo. So, you need to check the ranges around you to make sure this is a viable cartridge for plinking purposes. Non-steel core, non-corrosive ammo tends to cost the same as 5.56x45mm ammo.

Due to CA's assault weapons laws, the Saiga-410 requires a magazine lock in order to be CA legal.
