Okay, I get the deal on these repair kits, but I haven't been to a show in a couple years and was blown away at the availability of high capacity magazines and drum "repair kits". They even had a 100 round drum for my Mini....not to mention all the Pmags, AK mags, etc. As much as I wanted one, I figured ATF would be knocking at my door by the time I git home. But I seen one group of 2-3 guys buy 5-6 30 round mags and a drum, each.........Scary, I hate to profile but if your pants hang below your *** I will. I am even nervous using my 100 round 10/22 mag that I have had since I was a kid and I am almost 40. I will stick to my 10 round mags and leave the high capacity for everyone else.

Standard capacity mags are legal to use/posess if you had them before the cutoff date. If your uncomfortable with using yours, 10 round mags work great as well. Just store your standard mags away for a rainy day. -

The entire magazine with all parts, except it's disassembled.
It's a "rebuild kit" because it's supposed to be used for rebuilding damaged preban magazines. They can also be used to make permanently fixed 10rd magazines, or for shooting out of state (keep disassembled till out of CA, assemble in AZ/NV/OR/wherever, shoot, disassemble out of state, come back to CA).Comment

Not that I condone illegality, but the more large-capacity mags that are out there in CA the easier it is for the legit owners of them to blend in with the crowd rather than sticking out.Comment

What is the best website to buy rebuild kits and have shipped to my house so i can repair my mags.(i know about the calgun guy who sells them)Comment

The rebuild repair kits should be disassembled when purchased and transported to where your standard capacity magazine exists that requires the rebuild kit that you have purchased for it.. They may be used to repair your existing pre-ban standard capacity magazines. Your standard capacity magazine can be assembled, kept assembled, and used freely if you have a featureless (non-evil looking and configured) rifle. As for standard capacity magazines for semi-automatic handguns, you may be in possession of them, but they need to be disassembled. You should never be in possession of standard capacity magazines that fit a firearm model that did not exist before the ban, unless you are military LE, or a "special" person. The burden of proof is on the state and you should never hand that burden of proof to the state on a silver platter.
