How low on ammo do you get?

    Right now all I've got:

    14 rounds of 9mm
12 shells of 20 ga. birdshot
    5 rounds of 30.06
65 rounds of 7.35 Carcano (half milsurp & half reloads)
    4 rounds of .25 ACP

I keep asking myself how the HECK did I run out of ammo?

minimum 1000 rounds of all calibers before I start replenishing. I then try to do FIFO (first in first out)

Yah, anytime it drops into the low thousands I start buying. As a rule, I allot 10x the square footage that my guns take up (standing upright) and fill it with ammo to the same height.

i have 5.56mm ammo cans that i store mine in. they are all loose rounds and are all FULL. they are saved for SHTF/ZA/HD all if the short term. def. not a stockpile for WW3 (yet).

          1 of .45
          1 of 9mm
          1 of 22LR
          1 of 12g slugs
          1 of 12ga 00

that should hold me over until morning.

Once I get below 1000 for 45acp and .223 I start making more. So I always have 1000 rounds in the cans and components to make 2000 more.

For .357mag, I can live with being down to 500 or so before I crank up the press.

I still buy 9mm, and I usually like to keep 1000 rounds or so in reserve. That's pretty easy these days because I don't shoot 9mm very often. Shooting 9mm is like kissing your sister. Sure, you get a semi-chub, but it'd be icky to do anything with it.

I thought I had it bad. I'm down below 2 pick-ups worth. If you need to use my presses, PM me. Your stash is way too low. I've got more rounds than that floating around on the floor of my truck (not counting what I just put in there to take to ASR tomarrow). Right now my 550 is set up for 9mm and I even have a mold, Star sizing die and a 550 conversion kit for .25acp.

I've never had more. I don't know how I'd sleep at night if I had less than 1000 lbs of ammo.

realistically, I have 800-1500 rounds factory new in long term storage of each major caliber. For shooting, I have reloads and occasional purchases of one or two boxes of factory ammo to practice with.

                        I've got about

                        1k rounds of 22lr
                        350 rounds of 9mm
                        200 rounds of .45 acp
                        20 rounds of 7.62x54r
                        20 rounds of .223 rem
                        50 rounds of .38 special

I think I need to go buy some more.

buying ammo is as addicting as buying the guns. I try store at least 1000 rounds per caliber.
