JK Supply also designed one that I hear is pretty nice. It's called Gun Safe

also found this while surfing and wonder if CGN has thought about this, it is a product that forum members could use and by rebranding it CGN whould get a % of the sale .. CGN does already have its "store" and its a no inventory sale .... just a thought ....

That's very cool. So simple to make from a programming standpoint (assuming you have decent knowledge/experience).
I think I would just do something similar in Evernote. It wouldn't have all the bells & whistles, but you could put the same kind of Information in there.Yellowfin: The 2A in its true intent of what it protects can be summed up in one word: parity. Self defense means self defense from ANYTHING, and parity is being on level playing field with whatever threat may be.Comment

Well, if he found it through Buds he should buy it from Buds, imnsho
If people bought it straight from me even through they found out about it elsewhere, organizations wouldn't have need for rebranding and will stop promoting it to their users. By offering it to their members, they're essentially doing the marketing for it -- they deserve their cut, right?
That said though, registration keys for any edition works in any other edition.http://MyGunDB.com - The #1 firearm inventory software for collectors with over 100,000 users -- Download your FREE copy!

Using google docs won't make it ATF compliant for those who need a bound book (C&R's and FFLs). Also many people don't want to learn a spreadsheet system. It'd be rather difficult to duplicate MyGunDB using excel, nor would most people want to take that kind of effort.
Is it easy to write a database? Yup. Is it easy to write a good one? Nope. Is it easy to write a good one that most people can use without having to make significant modifications to meet their individual needs? Not even close.
Can it be done? Sure. But not many people want to put in the time and effort. It was like working a second, unpaid, full time job for many, many, months (and at times it still is) for me to do it. This all started because I needed a digital bound book for my C&R stuff but nothing out there met my requirements, nor those of the ATF, for doing that.
The fact that it is a business is a distant second to the fact that it is a hobby and a labor of love.
If you wrote your own firearm inventory system, why not make it available for others? I'm sure there are users out there that would love to check it out. The more choices for users, the better the users make out in the end, right?http://MyGunDB.com - The #1 firearm inventory software for collectors with over 100,000 users -- Download your FREE copy!

I have been using the free version of mygundb for about 2 weeks. I have now reached my limit with the free version and have decided I want to purchase it for my personal use now and my soon to be ffl business will need it so I will be getting a license soon.
This program is great. I can add in all information I need to keep track of for the BATFT(Eventually) and for my personal collection. I would recommend this software to anyone who wants to track their gun stuff.Comment
