Antioch Gun Show anyone?

Eh, smallish. It's usually a little smaller than the Vallejo show, but you never can tell. I may come by after work.Originally posted by Rob454I would bang her till her insurance kicked in. I'll tear that up.Originally posted by gravediggerI need your help. The best part about it was parking use to be free.
Not sure if that is true anymore, maybe someone can chime in.
Also no milwall, me a thinking the show promoters should give them 10 free tabels and attendance would double. Every dealer, except the few still selling ammunition, would love this marketing strategy.Comment

Just got back from the show...Since the advent of the OLL, this show has turned from FUdd city to a reasonable show; however, most of the vendors must smoke some good stuff before they slap prices on ...$450 for SKS's? C'mon...GTFOOH. Anyways...picked up some SS109 and some .223 Port..200 rds total..also joined the NRAComment

I did go this morning and probably will go back tomorrow.
A little on the small side but OK
Staring at endless tables of AR parts and accessories does not excite me, all that stuff can be found online. (one guy with and early Colt M16 complete upper flat side no forward assist, with butt stock $400 good condition)
So there was on guy with some boxes of parts, I like digging around in that kind of stuff.
Couple Remington M31's and Winchester M12's (nothing fantastic mostly field guns). The one armed guy "lefty' may have some shotgun items that a buddy of mine has been on the lookout for.
BTW, the term "fudd gun" is stoooopid. If there were no guns with real wood levers and bolts, etc... then these guns shows would not exist. Twenty tables of mall ninja crap with 4 tables of crappy reloads and another half dozen of the AR parts is not going to draw a crowd, but it would attract quite a crowd of wanna be soldiers and wanna be LE's, AKA security guards that would jump everytime one of those junk vendors pushed the button on a made in china bug zapper, I mean stun gun. I like AR's but that is not all I want to look at when I go to a gunshow. You can easily shop for that stuff from home.Comment

So you'all are talking about some "good stuff" to smoke that can be snatched up at his show?
The Antioch show was always really really small from what I remember and only worth it if you were not going to drive to far or were going to see a specific dealer.
Now if the have some "good stuff" I may have to re-evaluate my opinion about the show!Comment

Went yesterday morning, wish I din't but oh well. Only things I picked up was some .30 carbine ammo, 100 rounds for $30, and some .30-06 black tip AP ammo in enbloc clips.
As for the Vendor's smoking the stuff, here are some of their prices;
AR lowers $189 and up (Dublin Gun & Knives has some for $139)
Mosin bent bolts $140 (Find these online for $50)
Average price for M1 Garand's $1200
Average price for M1 Carbine $1000
Yugo Mauser's for $365
MN in all flavors $265 to $1200 for a sniper with a post war mount (what can I say, Big 5 sales and 03 FFL's can do better)
Yes parking is still free.
Only nice stuff that I've seen was from Lefty, he has some really super nice and clean South American mauser's for about $500-$600Comment

It is small, but I live in Pittsburg so I had to go. I wanted to pick up some books on the 1911 and maybe some mags. No books, but I did get some CMC Shooting Stars. I also saw a CZ-452 Trainer. I've read good things about it, and I want to pick up a nice .22 rifle before I get a Garand. It is a nice rifle, I really wanted to get it. Unfortunately I'm tapped out for the moment, but the guy who sold me the mags told me that he regularly stocks them. I'll pay him a visit after New Year's.Comment
