    Are glocks collectible?

I have this older glock what do you know about it? It has no finger groves, I think I bought it back in '88 or '89, but I am not sure, it has been some time ago.

Collectible is overstating it, but there's always somebody who prefers the old model.

It looks like a 17? to me ? but I know there's many who would be willing to buy the older glock 19 models because they hate the finger grooves.

Lots of folks collect Glocks. Not that they are more valuable, maybe the OD Glocks are the only ones. Some people like to have one of every model.

You have a second generation Glock 19 proof tested in May 1989 in Austria. It would probably only have collector value if you have all the original paperwork, accessories and box.

And has it had the safety upgrades? See http://www.glocktalk.com/forums/show....php?t=1287557 .

Kind of like 'are hammers collectible?'

                  I guess ...

(I like my Glocks; I wouldn't mind 'one of each'.)

Glocks are "Collectable" but not all that "Valuable"

...Unless it is serial number A0001 or something like that.

Based on the wear in your picture it's probably worth $450.

Gen 1 Glocks are collectible if they are in good condition. Was the comic book Superman Issue #1 collectible when it first came out? An untouched Gen 1 in original tupperware is very collectible.

I like my Glocks. I collect them, just like I collect other OD Green pistols, bottle caps, key chains, lint in my pockets, and debt.

Are they valuable? In the sense that some folks are willing to pay sky high prices for the OD ones, Yes. In the sense that they are made out of platinum and gold? no.

                              Sure, people collect 'em.

Will one ever be worth what a so-so condition Registered Magnum is?

Besides condition, rarity is a big factor in collectability. Not much rare about blocks.
