The DOJ will let you run a business from your home but you will still have to meet a stores security requirement. You will be giving up your 4th ammendment rights at your home. You will have to really set up a business or the Feds will pull your ticket. You have to be at it for the money. (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA) If they think your just doing it for your collection they will pull your ticket. You have to keep really good records or the state will pull your ticket.

If the local municipality will let you run the business there then the state and feds will too.

You will still have to have a business license, resale license, local firearms licence (if applicable) certificate of eligability, FFL and a CA letter. Insurance, when you get ready, e-mail me and I will send you the number for my insurance guy.

If you have any specific questions.. I'm glad to help. I bet ten percent can tell you a little about hoops.

Anyone remember back in the day all of the Gun Store ads in the LA Times Sports Section on Sunday? --I miss those days
I just spoke to one of the old employees and he said the 2 brothers had a beef with who gets what so they sold the place. LA county politics might have helpped them sell instead of splitting it up though.

BTW the guy who used to work there is a LA county LEO. He knows just as much about Fals, G3's and AR's than we do.

Hmmm, that is not what I heard. I heard that there was an issue regarding violations and that they lost their license. Perhaps they would not want to tell others of that. I think I was told about this from the CA DOJ. Walmart lost the ability to sell firearms due to 500+ violations, btw.

Personally, I am glad that B&B is gone. Many people that I know of were ripped off by them and/or had horrible service. I personally had to return a magazine extension, which I bought when I picked up the shotgun, and it did not work with it. I had to wait a long time to get someone to deal with it, they threatened me with a restocking fee when it did not work and they should have known that and my ID was not good enough to return the item, but was good enough to buy a gun. After that, I would pay more rather than deal with them. They gave the gun industry a bad name in my opinion.

I have two areas where they lack gun stores, one is southern part of the anelope valley and the la crescenta/tujunga/glendale area. There are no gun stores in the area and feel they would be good locations to sell handguns and mid-range priced guns. From guys with FFL's. How hard is it to get a license to operate? I'm guessing you need a nice safe, place with zoning approval, and lots of insurance

How high are operating costs? Is it really worth it in the end?

It's not worth it. Just as Wes at Tenpercentfirearms.

He's getting us great deals with great customer service but people are still trying to buy things out of state to save a few dollars on tax.

Its key in this day and age to have a website ..(with Pictures wes) There are still a ton of people that want to see in detail what there buying. I still like to see hands on before i buy. If Gunrunners had some better uppers in stock i would have bought from them weeks ago, But it was still nice to go in and look and see exactly what i was gona buy.

              .
Selling guns for 19 bucks more than they cost is stupid. A brick and mortor business is REQUIRED to do business in most localities... in CA.

Guys like you are going to make it so guns cant be baught in CA. When your dealers close because they HAVE TO HAVE a brick and mortar shop, whos going to do your transfer?
I think guys like you deserve a special transfer rate

Eventually, after most of the gun shops close, FFLs will start charging $100 minimum (not including DROS) for out-of-state transfers. It would make sense to me.

If you want to have a good gun store, you need to focus a lot of reloading supplies and ammunition. Powder and primers will be high volume products that will move fast if you price them right. The only problem is storing enough of stocked hazmat items in according to regulations.

While we are talking about gun stores of the past that went away.........does anyone remember "Fowlers" in Pasadena before the place went ka-boom? My dad used to take me there when I was a kid growing up in Arcadia. They had a pretty good selection back in the day. I still remember seeing a plume of smoke off in the distance when I was in junior high school one day. Little did I know it was Fowler's burning to the ground!
