I'm going to be just east of L.A. this weekend and I wanted to check out some good gun shops/outdoors sporting goods stores in the area. I've heard about Turners and will be taking a look around... see if they got any deals on ammo. Is there any one Turners that's better than the others (more selections)? I'll be in the Ontario area... I think there were a couple between LA and Ontario, and a few north of LA. I only have time to check out one, and don't want to go to a few places cause one is always sold out of ammo or accessories cause it was on sale or something.

oh, the chino store is kind of hidden. make sure you mapquest or google map it. -
I've only been to two Turners' stores - the one in San Marcos and the one in Kearney Mesa (SD). Of the two, hit San Marcos for much better selection.Primary author of gunwiki.net - 'like' it on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Gunwiki/242578512591 to see whenever new content gets added!Comment

It's really sad that the gun store business has dropped so drastically in California! While there are still a FEW small gun stores around, they're all on the "endangered species list"!
"B & B guns" (Bumble Bee) is now GONE! The local "gun stores", where you knew the owner and all of the employees, and might be able to "haggle" on prices....they're HISTORY! It has boiled down to the "chain"-type stores (Turner's, Big-5), and not much beyond that! Do any of you remember when you could go into Sears, and even K-Mart or Montgomery Wards, and find a half-way decent GUN department?
If your travels lead you further south, take a look at Martin B. Rettings gun store, in Culver City. Nothing but GUNS there! Just be prepared to pay TOP DOLLAR! The small gun stores just can't compete with the "chain" stores! I often have wondered how long Turner's will stay in business! Of course, they were smart and opened it up as a "Sporting Goods" store!Comment

San bernardino area has atleast 3 good stores with a few miles of each other....turners good selection and friendl staff. You also got berryman and sons wholesale they are a small local store ok selection pretty good prices only open thurs-sun though... and i forget the name of the other store it is also a indoor shooting range about 3-4 blocks away from turners so if you asked them where a range is they might know. I only know how to get there... they also have guns for sale and to rentComment

I order guns at Bain & Davis in San Gabriel. It's a traditional small, local gunstore. But they're good enough to be able to order just about any gun from their distributor source. They have a few guns for sale on display but if you want anything, you pretty much have to special order, but it only takes a day or two to get it in.
Bain & Davis is actually good for gunsmithing service. It's tough in today's world to find a good gunsmith. Most lack customer service but these guys seem to be pretty good.
The other thing you can do is check some indoor gun ranges. Many sell guns or can get special order. In the east side, there's The Gun Club on 6th Street which does sell. Plus you can hang around the range to take in the ambiance.Ruger Mark III Hunter (HiViz sights, Bushnell 1x30mm red dot) - Ruger Mark III Target - Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 mag 10" - 2x Ruger 10/22 - Ruger GP-100 - Ruger Single Six 9.5" - Glock 17 - AA G17 22lr conversion kit - CZ75B - S&W 637 - Taurus 85 - CZ452 - Remington 870 - Marlin 336 - Yugo SKS M59 - Swiss K31 - Russian Mosin Nagant M44 - Russian Mosin Nagant M91Comment

I think that Sako got transferred over to the Reseda store because they have one there. I couldn't imagine they'd think enough people would be buying them to have them in several of there stores. I do believe the asking price was 3KComment

Even Turners in the inland area may have trouble staying afloat when Bass Pro Shops opens at Victoria Gardens next year. I would venture to say that most of Turners business is in tackle and accessories. BPS will probably pound them on pricing for that stuff. I will also venture to say that BPS will have morons in the gun dept, though.Comment

I live in the Riverside area close to Ontario and Turners... Well lets say they are a little expensive and think that they're the !@#$... I would try ARM USA ask for Brian 714-520-4600. They don't stock everything but can get you what you need... and beleive it or not, WallMart has better prices on Ammo than you can imagine... Lethal...

I concur on Bain & Davis being a great business to deal with, in terms of purchasing guns and for their gunsmithing services.Comment
