In these situations, I may expose myself to vulnerability should a threat happen to present itself while I'm separated from my firearm. I have a suspicion that the bad guys have a knack for enacting their mischief when they have the upper hand, so I've been thinking about getting a holster that would work well in my sub-casual attire.

I would like to hear whether y'all are carrying (and how) when lounging around in your pajamas or other similar attire.
If you are serious, an XD SC 9 or 40 in a clip on FIST #1 IWB holster works fine if your "jammies" have a decent draw string.

What would everyones advice be for shower/sex carry. HA. Seriously I get all warm and fuzzy with my weapon close by, but I know that every second of every day is not possible.

I had a similar situation problem a while back. I was concerned with a possible situation where I wake up in the middle of the night, need to have my pistol and a light, bit may need two hands to for instance carry my daughter to safety if needed. Can't do that without a place to stow the gun, and i refuse to wear a holster to bed! My solution was to get a basic webbelt with a quick attach buckle and put a holster on it. I keep it next to the bed. I can strap it on quickly no matter what I'm wearing and have both hands free if I need them. May work for you?

Yeah, because carrying a gun means someone is paranoid.

Whoa folks, what's up with all the hate?

In this state there are very few places left where one can carry a gun around without having to go through a permit process, which in some counties is impossible to get.

If the OP here has got the "I want to carry a pistol around" bug then where else is he/she going to carry it?

Thinking about how carry can work in different suituations is not a bad thing...

Bianchi Ranger Belly Band; no longer manufactured for retail sales... but is worth the search and find on the online auctions. there are other companies that currently make their own versions of a belly band setup. my vote goes to the Bianchi.

I guess he could put his piece in a ziplock plastic bag during showers, but I got a feeling that what to do with it during sex isn't a problem for this guy as he probably hasn't gotten any in quiet a while.

Shoulder holster, with a GLOCK for the shower...

now, in certain positions, a shoulder holster may not be practical in bed, so stick to positions that are appropriate for your carry attire!

LMAO! Get one of those smart carry holsters. They are self supporting.

Well, that's rude, isn't it? You don't really know me. Besides, during sex isn't a problem, because that only requires one hand.

For in the shower, a stainless steel handgun, with a decent size rare earth magnet mounted on the shower wall high enough to keep the gun out of the direct spray.

For sex, it usually happens in the bedroom, so my nightstand gun is quite handy.
