    Gun ad from 1952..

I love these old adds.. and while I know our dollar is devalued compared to then it's still crazy to see the prices.. We went to the antique swap meet today and this was in a 1952 issue of a gun mag.

    A Colt 1911 for $45!!

The "wild wolf skin" for 9 bucks is sorta nuts too.. and as for laws you just order the gun and they shipped it to your house.. lol

Of course that was back when $45 would buy something.

Oh? So it is a clip? Lol

          Mail-order Saturday Night Special anyone?

Just think 60 years from now a new generation of shooters will be looking at our gun prices now saying the same thing. Wow only $1300 for a Springfield TRP. They will cost like $15,000 then.

Thanks for sharing! I'll have to show that to my brother. He'll get a kick out of the .25's next to the 1911's.

Good old Klein's Sporting Goods of Chicago. Back in 1963 they would ship a Carcano right to your door.

Not just a colt 45, they were selling lightly used army surplus colt 45's..... Worth 3x as much as a standard colt in today's market. 3-$5,000

My phone call back in 1952 goes like this:

"uh, yea, how many of those colt 1911's do you have?....15,000 you say?...ok, I'll take them all...can you get more?".

If Marty McFly was smart, he and Doc would have brought back as many 1911s as the Dolrean could hold.

You think it's a good deal on 1911's, you should see the prices listed for G/K43's on those old ads
