    Gun ruggedness and reliability

Which would last longer or less breakage?

A semi auto pistol or an AR? Both have the same amount of ammo through them. I, myself have one of each. Very happy with my BHP, about 500 rounds through it already. I have a Bushmaster Carbon 15 top loader....yes, I know, bad reviews...but haven't shot it yet. I may look into getting another AR, but the question still remains. Which would last longer, needing less parts to change? I know, all man made things will break eventually.

A Glock will outlast a AR in a endurance test.

Your AR should run trouble free for thousands of rounds if you maintain and care for it.

Glock would win in a 'torture' test. Then again it would probably beat every other firearm as well, so that may not be much or an indication.

After nuclear holocaust, only Glocks and cockroaches will be left.
