    Alternate Brady Test

I like the Brady test so much, I propose an alternate one.

    1. Is there a gun in my home? (Yes/No/Unsure)

    2. Is the gun out in the open? Do you feel the need for an open or public display of your weapon, such as hanging it over the fireplace? (Yes/No/Unsure)

    3. Is the gun loaded at all times? (Yes/No/Unsure)

    4. Do the children in my home know where the gun is kept? (Yes/No/Unsure)

    5. Do my children know and practice the four rules of firearm safety? (Yes/No/Unsure) - if no teach them, bonehead

    6. Do my children understand that guns are dangerous, but that one-shot stops are never guaranteed? Have I taught every child in my house over the age of six the Mozambique drill? (Yes/No/Unsure)

    7. Can EVERYONE in my household clear a stoppage under stress? (Yes/No/Unsure)

    8. Are there arguments in my home over who gets to use the 1911 on range days? (Yes/No/Unsure)

    9. Is the gun accessible to anyone in my home who might need it, on a moment's notice? (Yes/No/Unsure)

    10. Is there anyone in my home who CANNOT place five consecutive shots inside a five-inch circle at twenty-one feet, in less than five seconds and under stress? (Yes/No/Unsure)

    11. Does everyone in my family own a quality retention holster and a good, stiff belt? (Yes/No/Unsure)

    12. Are there guns in the homes where my children play or visit? (Yes/No/Unsure) - if not, you need new friends

    13. Do my relatives or neighbors have guns in their homes, regular access to quality training, and up-to-date concealed-carry permits? (Yes/No/Unsure)

for those who don't know it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozambique_Drill

basically, douple tap center mass + aimed headshot...

(useless fact: in the PC game "Police Quest: SWAT" they refer to this as the Failure Drill on the target range)

And for those old enough to remember the Singing Nun's hit single Dominique, here it is with a new set of words from the Gunsite folks - The Mozambique Two-Step (along with a bit of commentary by Jeff Cooper).

Man, I feel better now. All apply to me with the exception of the Mozambique, which I will have to take the family to the range and qualify them in this technique.. Thanks Wolfsmandad..
