I was thinking this morning of a way to use an ultrasonic cleaner with an AR-15 lower. I am not sure it is worth the hassle of using instead of just removing the offending parts, but that is why it is just an idea. What I came up with is that something would have to take the place of the rear buffer tube to hold the dentin and spring in, yet not protrude to make the lower longer than it needs to be. A short piece of buffer with a bar or rod across the middle would be perfect for this to use the cross piece as an internal handle. Is anything like this made? If not, if anyone wants to run with this idea, go for it. But if this is done as a commercial venture, all I ask is a prototype or first production run sample as a thank you. I would do this myself, but lack the machining equipment to do it.
Now with all that, I am not even sure if the lower will fit into the cleaner I was looking at, but I just wanted to throw it on the wall to see if it sticks.
