    Pick my next pistol!!!

So I am working my way along with the CCW (had my first interview today...was super easy, now I gotta wait...not easy!)

I have been on the lookout for a nice conceal carry pistol. My 92 is too big for everyday use. But pistols like the LC9 and little revolvers leave me wanting more. If money were no object I would get me a EMP in a heartbeat. Knowing that...I need you guys to pick my next pistol.
    The requirements are pretty simple:
    Must be 9mm (personal preference)
Must be under $600 street price (wifes preference)
Mid sized ideally. Something compact but not miniature. (again think EMP or Kimber ultra carry...)
I'd like to hear pro's and con's to your suggestion.
    No Glocks...

I know there are many "best of" lists out there, but I'd like to hear from the people here.
    ORRRRRRR...
If anyone has a slightly used Kimber ultra carry or EMP they are trying to off load LET ME KNOW.
On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

      M&P9 or 9c.

Ergonomic, reliable, great all around shooters.

I wouldn't write the LC9 off so quick. It's in your budget even OTD with ammo and a holster. With a Crossbreed or other variant you won't even know your carrying it. That's big in my book. It hides nicely but yet is not too dainty. I have a Sig P239 that was going to be my primary carry but the LC9 took over that spot.
my .02, doesn't make it right for anyone else.

            Glock 26/19...

M&P9c is a fantastic choice imo. I think it is about the size of a Glock 19, but with better ergonomics for most people. Reliability is WAY up there. You may want an Apex trigger kit with it though.

Kahr CW9 I think works well. No personal experience with it. The CM9 is supposed to be even smaller but I think it costs quite a bit more... don't know for sure.

This is another excellent choice. Weight is the only downside imo

Some great ideas here. Gotta go hold some of these! @x231 I like the LC9...and will be buying one. But for everyday carry it's just a little too slim in my hand. But make no mistake I like that little thing a lot! I wish I could find an EMP at a tolerable price!!!

The only new handguns I can think of under 600$(or close to it) are an M&P 9mm or a Glock. But i can't recomend a glock, since I wouldn't buy one myself. Another option is an HK USP compact.

XD40 for $419 brand new at Turners, and then buy a 9mm conversion barrel for $150 online and have both. I love mines

And those FN 9mm pistols are looking really good too. SA/DA stainless and under $600

You could fatten the grip up with a Hogue or Pachmayer sleeve but if I wanted a thicker grip I'd be looking at the M&P compact. $569 msrp but you should be able to knock a few bucks off of that. Talk to Breco in Clovis and see what they'll do for you.

You want a real beater piece for everyday carry. You don't want a custom pistol, it's just going to get all banged around. You also want something of reasonable weight, you'll get tired of lugging around a big pistol.
I don't know why you don't want a Glock but if it was me I would carry my XD9 Sub Compact or a Glock.

No idea why, but I've never shot a glock I like. I realize many people love them but it's just not a gun for me. Never liked the feel of them. I've shot the xd compact and like it ok, but didn't fall in love. This is a purchase that I need to absolutely love.
