    Reorganized Firearm Laws Effective 2012

Can anyone provide the link to the location where Calguns has provided a quick list of old versus new gun laws that are effective 2012. For example, possession of a deadly weapon (as specified) - was 12020 et seq., but is now PC section 22210 etc.

    I've looking for a quick-glance type list/reference.

    Thanks.

Not much has been done for the cheat sheet... Shall I hold my breath until the AG/DoJ/BoF fixes their own website which still shows the old numbering system? Is this part of THEIR job?

Maybe if every single gun owner in California submits a request to have them change this BoF Official web page we can get a correct numbering system. This is how California manufacturers over-night firearm felons. They change the laws without easy access to those changes. I still meet people who own firearms and have no clue what the laws are.

We are still wondering if Large Capacity Magazines are classified as a nuisance even when legally owned prior to 1/1/2000. I lost track of the thread and still wonder if that was resolved or if court action is going to be needed.
      PC Cheat Sheet

Old PC | Description | New PC | Notes

      12025 | Ban on concealing a handgun | 25400 |

      12031 | Ban on carrying a loaded firearm | 25850 |

      12050 | License to carry | 26150 |

      12070 | Dealer licensing | |

        Nice...just found this....http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/di...000&file=11460

11460. (a) Any two or more persons who assemble as a paramilitary
organization for the purpose of practicing with weapons shall be
punished by imprisonment in a county jail for not more than one year
or by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000), or by
        both that fine and imprisonment.
As used in this subdivision, "paramilitary organization" means an
organization which is not an agency of the United States government
or of the State of California, or which is not a private school
meeting the requirements set forth in Section 48222 of the Education
Code, but which engages in instruction or training in guerrilla
        warfare
or sabotage, or which, as an organization, engages in rioting
or the violent disruption of, or the violent interference with,
        school activities.
So I and may others need to NOT form up with gear or risk this charge... ALL of our Founding Fathers are guilty of this crime.

That 'table of contents' list is particularly useful to identify the scope of some parts that go 'for the purpose of this article ...'

Individual sections are not usually fully specified to title-division-chapter-article-section.

when I get a chance I will start making the PC numbers links to the actual law on the AG website. There is a 12500 character limit per post and that one is at the limit. That means i will need to make several post to encompass all the laws. I will attempt this next week.

Got it I will keep that in mind

                  Why redo the work?

The page at AG - http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/ca...ebody=&hits=20 - has it already done.

Reposting that page here with the links embedded is not necessary - just repost the link to the page. Then all questions of 'up to date' fall on the DOJ/AG, where they belong.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

From that list, it isn't just guns. I'm surprised they don't have a criminal code for openly carrying yarn or other fabric-based weapons.

Here's a pretty good "cheat sheet" for translating the old codes into the new codes. It's from the LA County DA's office.

Thank you all for important information - especially, SVT-40 who provided a quick-cheat sheet which is precisely what I was looking for. Thanks.
