How do you organize your magazines?

I have many different autopistols/rifles hence many different mags. How do you organize your mags so they have some semblance of order or so that you can ID them in the dark when SHTF.

Right now, I have them in two plastic shoe boxes labeled: Box 1 - 9mm and below. Box 2 - 40 S&W and above. I know my 1911 mags by feel, but my CZ and Sig 9mm mags are so similar, and so is my Glock 9mm and .40, etc... so I need a better plan.

I just keep them in the bathroom and read the one on the top.

I keep the HD ones next to (and in) the "grab" pistol.

I have other mags loaded ready to go and in case I pick another pistol or what ever.

The other empty mags all sit in the range bag or in drawers. I have so many magazines it really is ridiculous (but can you ever have enough? )

I just keep them in the bathroom and read the one on the top.

HD ones loaded and in specific locations. All others are in one of two boxes... Box 1 is for mags I still use all the time, and Box 2 is for mags that either are junk or are otherwise not in use by me anymore.

Keep mine in a little toolbox.

I keep all of my 10 round magazines loaded and stacked nicely in my safe. Then all the other rebuild kits are disassembled in big zip lock bags with ID to know what they are and have them in five 10 gallon storage bins.

The rule is the same around my house for guns and magazines---any gun or magazine that is NOT in the safe or lockbox is LOADED---any gun or magazine IN the safe or lockbox is UNLOADED---or course, you treat ANY gun as if it's loaded even if you know it's not---basic safety.

If I did that I'd have to buy another and where am I going to put a 3rd safe?

You're not trying hard enough....the mags are in the smaller safe...the other 4 are spread around the house

While I don't have a large collection of magazines yet...
I read about this storage tip either here or on the SIG forum a while back, & use Plano tackle/storage boxes which stack nicely in my closet.
For my Ruger .22 magazines a small box, for my SIG magazines some medium sized ones which will also fit nicely into my range bag.
