A bunch of people jumped on the January special, the Bighorn. The Costco $599 is the February special. Since the Cannon is lighter, smaller, and costs more than the Bighorn, perhaps it is better made, i.e. thicker steel, etc.

P.S. I've had a Cannon safe for years. Love it.

I jumped on a different Costco/Cannon deal over a year ago. Great safe but the fire rating isn't as good as the American Security one I brought through Turners, although it is slightly bigger for the same price. I did have to pick up my AmSec safe while Costco had free delivery. However, the delivery guy didn't want to bring it up 3 concrete steps to my patio so I can get it in the house, despite my offer to help. He said it was a "flight of steps" which is extra. So it sat outside (hidden) for 2 days until I could coerce a friend. Luckily, the shipping box was unmarked so it looked like a fridge.

I got the Cannon from Costco. It's not my favorite but it works. What's nice is that Cannon emailed me a couple weeks after I bought it and offered a free upgrade to a larger model.

I've got a Cannon safe purchased from Costco.

Costco is a great store with the best prices.

The Cannon safe is better than nothing

And will keep the honest people honest

And a smash and grab burglar away

But any serious guy, with a little time (15 minutes) and it's "by by"

The Cannon warranty is great. I had a house fire and they replace the safe at zero cost to me. They paid for the shipping both ways and all they asked for was an incident report for the fire. They were very helpful.
